The City of Marysville Police Department has notified the district about the emergency closure of 88th Street from 61st to 59th for an undetermined amount of time. Students walking and parents/guardians driving in this area may have limited access. Buses are rerouting to accommodate the closure and deliver students home safely.
The MSD Board of Directors will hold two work study sessions on school closures on December 9 and 12 at 4:30 p.m. in the board room. The board is also seeking feedback on the current options. Go to https://bit.ly/SchoolClosureFeedback to access the form.
The Special Education Parent meeting scheduled tonight at 5:00 pm at the Educational Service Center has been canceled.
We apologize for this late notice. A key staff member who was to lead the meeting experienced an emergency and will not be available to attend.
The next meeting is scheduled for January 23, 2025.
Thank you for your understanding.
School is canceled at Sunnyside Elementary today, Wednesday, November 20, due to the power outage. PUD crews have been working hard but will not be able to repair the outage and restore power to the school in time for school to start. We anticipate that school will resume on a normal schedule tomorrow. All other schools are following a 2-hour late start schedule.
Out of an abundance of caution, Marysville School District will hold a 2-hour late start for all schools and transportation to out-of-district programs on Wednesday, 11/20, due to power outages and downed trees and power lines. There will be no AM Skill Center transportation or half-day preschool classes (AM or PM).

Dear Parents and Guardians,
The current windstorm is creating safety issues and concerns with buses transporting students home from school and for students who walk home from school. The district is getting reports about downed power lines, road closures, and trees and large limbs blocking access.
Buses are operating normally, transporting high school students now, and middle school and elementary school students at their dismissal times.
We are concerned about students who walk home from school and those who walk to their homes or daycare after the bus delivers them to their bus stop. The potential for downed power lines, large limbs, and trees creates a hazard.
The bus drivers will do their best to transport students to their drop-off locations safely. However, there may be delays or the possibility of a road not being accessible. If a road has been closed or inaccessible, the bus will return students to their school, and the school will notify parents.
Parents/guardians have the option of picking up their child(ren) at school. If you change your child’s go-home plans, please make arrangements with the school.
The lockdown at Marysville Pilchuck High School is now lifted. Students are being dismissed to buses and to parents and guardians who are at the campus for pick-up. Student pick-up will be in the swimming pool parking lot, exiting towards the stadium/tennis court parking lots. Staff are on-site to direct traffic.
After the police secured the campus and took over incident command, they began investigating the report while ensuring the safety of all students and staff. Marysville Police Department has released a media statement linked below for more information.
Parents and guardians will receive follow-up information directly from the school.

The Marysville Police Department has secured the campus, and we anticipate the lockdown being lifted very soon. As soon as the lockdown is lifted, a follow-up email and text message will be sent to parents or guardians at the school site with information about student pick-up. Buses will be operating as normal.

Out of an abundance of caution, MPHS is currently on lockdown due to a reported safety concern. All students and staff are safe, and law enforcement is on-site and investigating the report. We will provide an update as soon as possible. Again, all students and staff are safe.
Due to a collision on I-5 earlier this morning, school buses are running late. The accident, not related to a school bus, backed up traffic for several miles causing delays.
9/20/24, 5:40 AM: 51st Avenue NE is closed from 108th to 122nd (north Marysville). Buses will need to be rerouted, which will cause delays for some routes. The PUD is currently replacing a power pole, which may take up to three hours. As a reminder, 67th Avenue is also closed.
