Please see below for a lengthy, but important message regarding scholarships (FREE MONEY)!   

During this lengthy school closure, it will be imperative that you stay up-to-date on my emails. Please allow for plenty of time when preparing a scholarship application.   A friendly reminder: Please consider the following when applying for a scholarship listed below or elsewhere:

  • If you are interested in applying for a scholarship listed below and there is no link to an application, please email Ms. Coragiulo, Career & College Readiness Counselor, at alicia_coragiulo@msvl.k12.wa.us for an application.
  • If you are in need of your SAT scores, please retrieve those from your CollegeBoard.org account.
  • If you are in need of a copy of your high school transcript, please email Mrs. Millar, the Registrar, at shannon_millar@msvl.k12.wa.us  *Please note that transcripts cannot be provided to students who have unpaid fines.*
  • Please communicate with staff via email if you are in need of a letter of recommendation.  *A letter of recommendation request form has been attached to this email for your convenience.*

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES (For graduating 12th-grade students)

  • The Rotary Club of Marysville is now accepting applications for their scholarship. Applications are available at https://washboard.wsac.wa.gov/login.aspx and are due by TODAY, April 13, 2020.   
  • The Pilchuck Soccer Alliance is accepting applications for the Kent Coulter/Windsor Main Memorial Scholarship for graduating seniors who have participated in the club. Four $500 scholarships will be awarded to students accepted and attending either a community college, four-year college/university, or technical college. Applications are due by April 20, 2020. Please email Ms. Coragiulo  for an application.  
  • The Marysville School District Foundation is offering two scholarships: FOUNDATION LEGACY SCHOLARSHIPThe Marysville School District Foundation LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP is awarded to dependents of Marysville School District classified or certified employees who are either high school seniors or high school graduates within five years of having graduated high school and have not previously received and used this scholarship.  All Legacy Scholarships are awarded for the next academic year, fall 2020 through summer 2021.   ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: To be eligible for the scholarship the applicant must: ·      Be a dependent of a Marysville School District classified or certified employee; ·      Be 18 years of age or older or be a graduating high school senior;  ·      Demonstrate financial need; and ·      Be enrolled in or accepted by a college or post-secondary program (vocational or training program/school). Applications are due by April 24, 2020. CARING FOR YOUR COMMUNITY SCHOLARSHIPThe Caring for Your Community Scholarship was created in 2015 as a result of the tragic shooting at Marysville-Pilchuck High School on October 24, 2014. The Foundation recognized a need for leaders specializing in mental health, counseling, social work, public safety, health and human services policy development, and non-profit management. Through this scholarship, the Foundation is committed to providing opportunities for Marysville School District students seeking higher education who have a desire to help those in need. Please visit https://www.foundationmsd.org/scholarships to apply. Applications are due by April 24, 2020.  
  • Soroptimist International of Marysville is a nonprofit service organization that provides support to women and girls in our community in many ways. They invite you to apply for a scholarship that will assist you in continuing your education at an accredited post-secondary college or technical training program of your choice. The Application is due Thursday, April 30, 2020. Please email Ms. Coragiulo, Career & College Readiness Counselor, for an application and return completed application to her.  
  • The Edmund F. Maxwell Foundation Scholarship is an award to acknowledge the accomplishments of high-achieving students. The Foundation is offering financial aid of up to $5,000 per year for graduating seniors starting at a private four-year college program in Fall 2020. For the online application and guidelines, please visit: www.maxwell.org The application is due by April 30, 2020.  
  • The Marysville Kiwanis is an international nonprofit service organization. Each year they raise money to provide scholarships to graduating male senior in the Marysville School District. Any male senior is welcome to apply, but Students of the Month and their alternatives are encouraged to apply. Winners are based on community service, need, academics and activities. The amount of scholarships varies depending on the monies raised.The scholarship can be used at any post-secondary college or technical school. Pleas email Ms. Coragiulo for an application and return to her prior to May 1, 2020.  
  • The Randy Privrasky Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior from Marysville Pilchuck High School or Getchell High School with aspirations towards entrepreneurship and admitted as an undergraduate in an accredited college or university to provide assistance with tuition or books as a one-time payment. Please email Ms. Coragiulo for an applicatio and return to her prior to May 1, 2020.  
  • The Indigenous Student IEPC Johnson O'Malley Scholarship is available to enrolled Native students in the Marysville School District. To apply, each applicant must include the following in a date stamped package mailed to the Don Hatch Youth Center at 6406 Marine Dr., Tulalip, WA 98271 no later than May 1, 2020. -Proof of a 3.0 or higher high school GPA. -Official high school transcript. -Minimum of two letters of recommendation from the applicant's school. -Minimum of one letter of recommendation from a community member. -A personal statement to include: the student's high school experience, a lesson the student has learned from their experiences, and the student's future plans.  
  • The 2020 Career and Technical Scholarship (CTS) opens April 6, 2020 and is due June 4, 2020. Please see the Career and Technical Scholarship (CTS) link for information regarding the scholarship and the application. This particular scholarship is intended for students interested in pursuing high-demand trade, STEM and health care careers through a certificate, apprenticeship or associate degree program at Washington's 34 community and technical colleges.    
  • The PB&J Scholarship is open and accepting applications. This scholarship is open to graduating seniors planning on attending a two-year or four-year accredited college in Fall 2020. They are particularly interested in students who have experienced unusual circumstances. Applications can be submitted at http://bit.ly/pbjscholarship Applications are due on June 7, 2020.
